CISS is an acronym for Continuous Ink Supply System. And as many of our customers know we have not recommended them. This is because they are traditionally manufactured from inexpensive plastics to make InkjetMall Continuous Ink Supply Systemthem economical. Because we manufacture our own inks and micro-encapsulate our pigment particles our inks have unique chemical properties. Our inks are chemically very similar to Epson, but are very dissimilar to traditional 3rd party inks. Therefore, the type of plastic that comes into contact with our inks must only be HDPE, PE or PP. CISS systems are traditionally manufactured with cheap tubing that is PVC and with inexpensive small inner cartridge components that are hybrid. Our inks will react in these traditional CISS systems.

So, we have commissioned a CISS that uses only PP and PE components. It is compatible with other brands of inks. It is way overbuilt for your average ink system. But, it is perfect for ConeColor Pro and Piezography ink systems. Both of these ink systems are the only 3rd party encapsulated pigment inks available worldwide. Please do not attempt to use these inks in CISS systems not sold by InkjetMall.

What a CISS system does is allow you to print large quantities of prints without having to refill cartridges. The cartridges that are installed into the printer have long ink lines that are connected to tanks. CISS systems are:

These systems were first introduced by InkjetMall in 1999. It took Epson 15 years to offer their own customers the convenience and value of tank driven printers. CISS tank systems are now a big part of their future. Epson calls their CISS systems by the name of EcoTank. But, Epson limits the use of these to the lower cost ink markets. There is certainly no reason why you can not drive a higher end printer with a convenient and economical Continuous Ink Supply System.
