PiezoDN software and a K6 PiezoDN ink set allows you to print and calibrate your own film for any darkroom or alt process. It is the easiest and most precise method available today, and it is void of the defects and anomalies caused by making digital negatives with color inks. A PiezoDN system produces tens of thousands of gray levels in a precise linearization for any alternative process.
It is possible to make a PiezoDN system using any of our five different Piezography ink tones as long as you pair it with PiezoDN software. We also offer a separate PiezoFlush flushing system to rid your printer of color stain.
A regular PiezoDN ink set pairs 5 shades of Piezography gray ink with Piezography Photo Black. This type of ink set with six shades can only be used to make film.
However, if you would like to use your Epson printer to make both film and matte Piezography prints, then we offer ink cartridges in sets of 7 (with both a matte black and a photo black ink cartridge) and you will be able to switch the black cart to make either film or prints. You can choose from any of our five ink sets for this set of 7 for the 1430/1500W printer. There is a way to use PiezoDN to print matte proofs that emulate your alternative process. This makes proofing easy and reduces your overall cost of alternative process printing. But also, Piezography matte prints are themselves quite beautiful. Make sure that if you want to print Piezography prints in addition to film, that you purchase the set of 7 inks and a set of 7 cartridges. You will be swapping out the matte black and photo black inks to make matte prints or film.
