InkThrift CL is a brand new (2013) formulation of a fade-resistant dye inks for EPSON Claria Hi-Definition compatible Artisan and Stylus Photo printers. It is available in six colors:

EPSON released the Claria Hi-Definition inks for a range of printers that have six inkjet heads and produce photo quality images. EPSON claims up to 200 years longevity when stored in photo albums. The EPSON Claria Hi-Definition inks have very good longevity when display in light. When we released InkThrift PRO inks we did so with the warning that they are for short-term graphics. The new InkThrift CL inks, are designed for much longer term display - similar to the way that EPSON Claria Hi-Definition inks can be displayed.

InkThrift CL inks are designed for printing photographs that are fade resistant, scratch resistant, water resistant, and possess a high color chroma.

For the ultimate in longevity, we recommend ConeColor pigment inks. But, for a low-cost, dye-based solution, InkThrift CL inks can be used with confidence.

The new EasyFill® InkThirft CL system by Vermont PhotoInkjet is a brand new concept in reusable and refillable inking systems for EPSON desktop printers.

EasyFill offers improvements over one time use cartridges by separating the wet components from the electronic components.

The new system features easily replaceable ink capsules that are inserted into keys that are then placed into the printer where cartridges are normally installed. The key is semi-permanent (meaning lasts a long time but can be removed) and the chip auto resets when an ink capsule runs empty.

Share one ink supply among many printers
The new EasyFill InkThirft CL ink capsule, because it is universal, can be shared amongst any printer using the EasyFill semi-permanent key. Sets of keys are available for a wide range of EPSON desktop printers allowing shared ink resources as well as increased productivity by sharing hardware resources. For example, the InkThirft CL ink capsule fits into EasyFill 77, 79, and 99 keys allowing one source of ink to be shared amongst 18 different printer models.

• 79 Keys fit EPSON Artisan R1400, 1430 printers (USA models).

Pre-filled Ink Capsules
InkjetMall is offering pre-filled ink capsules with the new InkThrift CL dye ink that replicates the EPSON Claria ink color space and offers similar fade-resistance. InkThrift CL is significantly more fade-resistant then InkThirft PRO. Rather than being intended for short-term graphics as is InkThirft PRO, the InkThrift CL ink is designed for photographic reproduction.

Easy to Use
The system is very easy to use. The ink capsules are easily inserted into the key. The vent tab is pulled prior to inserting into the printer. When the ink supply is exhausted you can either refill the ink capsule or replace with a new one. InkjetMall sells ink capsules in complete sets (1 of each color) or sets of 3 (3 of one color). We believe it is more convenient to have several sets of ink capsules and to refill them all at once.

When you remove the key from the printer and fit another ink capsule into it, the chip on the key will reset to full when it is reinserted into the printer. There is no need for a chip resetter as long as you allow each capsule to exhaust. The printer will tell you when its time to replace a capsule. You may see ink remaining in the capsule when it reads empty. This is quite normal. It is there to protect the print head in case the chip miscalculates the amount of remaining ink. When this happens with EPSON or 3rd party pre-filled cartridges the ink is trapped and is discarded. With EasyFill ink capsules, the ink can be reclaimed by refilling the capsule for ReUse.

Lower Costs
InkThrift CL is a premium ink, yet priced at 25% or lower than the cost of EPSON Claria Hi-Defiition ink. It is available in 220ml bottles for even higher costs savings. It is also available in pre-filled ink capsules for the EasyFill system. Either way, the use of InkThrift CL will lower your ink costs and reduce your footprint on this planet.

Longevity
This is our first non-pigment ink that we can encourage you to use when longevity is important to you. Normally, we discourage the use of non-pigmnet inks for printing photographs. InkThrift CL is designed to print photographs. It allows photo-enthusiasts to print their work using inexpensive EPSON Artisan and Photo Stylus printers and display them continually for many years.

We performed WIR i*metric evaluations in side by side testing with EPSON Claria Hi-Defiition inks. For comparison we included InkThrift PRO so that you can see the improvements made to InkThrift CL.
