The New Digital Negative for Alternative Process
The new Piezography PiezoDN Digital Negatives are more detailed and smoother than digital negatives made with color inks. PiezoDN Digital Negatives replicate the effects of a continuous tone silver negative and do not have the digital artifacts and defects produced by using color inks in combination with the QTR or Epson printer driver. The acuity of a PiezoDN is so detailed and smooth that it can render 0.7pt type! Try that with any other system.
This course is designed to teach both Piezography process as well as Piezography PiezoDN Digital Negative. We teach Digital Negative by demonstrating Platinum and Palladium printing. Our darkroom is not setup for Silver Printing, and we do not want the toxicity associated with silver printing to affect our country plumbing. However, what is learned about making negatives for Pt/Pd is very much the same process for making negatives for Silver and other alternative process. If your ultimate goal is to make silver prints, or salt prints, or cyanotypes or any process that requires a digital negative - this workshop is for you. If you have always wanted to learn platinum / palladium printing, this workshop is also perfect for you!
